2-20-07 Sea Me

The sea drifts listlessly by the point at Land's End, Bailey's Island, ME. ....another interpretive expression.....just scribbling some more before I leave the islands for the day.

2-20-07 Boats Dragged Ashore

This is on a quiet day at Mackerel Cove, Bailey's Island, ME. Usually it has many working lobster boats but I didn't see them that day.....doesn't mean they weren't there though! The serenity surrounds the space like mist or fog. The tired boats are resting for awhile.

2-18-07 Quiet

I am particularly fond of pine trees, small and large. These few pines were playful excursions of a few minutes time. They are set along a bog in Lisbon, ME.

2-12-07 Sea

Did you guess? ....another interpretive expression. The verticals are the remains of old pilings in the sea with a sky that is becoming overcast. This is a 5.5 x 8.5 oil pastel on paper.

2-12-07 Stone Wall by the Water

I was fascinated by the unusual tree on the right and the leaves jousting in the breeze. I just love to scribble leaves.

2-01-07 Sea & Sky

This is one of my interpretive expressions, a term I coined and think describes what I nearly always do in my very quick scribbles, and often in longer scribbles and paintings. My hand moves autonomically, a result of internal forces created by experiencing the seaside. This was done at Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
